No Man's Sky Delayed 'Till August, Don't Be Mad

It is hardly ever a bad thing when a game is delayed. The developers are actually doing us players a favour. Would you rather be annoyed by glitches (some possibly game-breaking) in your brand new fully priced video game? Or would you rather be sad that you have to wait a few more weeks?

Take a look at Assassin's Creed Unity for example. Now I never played that game at launch myself, but that was for a very good reason. The community went in uproar over the amount of game-breaking bugs found in Ubisoft's 2014 title. Exhibit A:

Now how about Unchartered 4? Naughty Dog's latest title was originally meant to be released in 2015 but got delayed to March 2016 for more development time and then delayed again to April 2016 for extra manufacturing time. Imagine if they chose to release the final chapter of the super loved Unchartered series in 2015? Would it be missing huge features in multiplayer? Would you run into graphical and mechanical bugs during the campaign? Would you have missed out on a day one title because there wasn't enough to go around? Most likely.

Sure, I am very disappointed that I can't get my eager hands on the most anticipated game of 2016 for 7 weeks longer than expected, but I am grateful Hello Games has made this tough decision to produce a fully polished game for the community.

Everybody sit down, have a cup of tea, and dream of far away (but getting closer) stars, planets, and the center of the universe.
