E3 2016 - EA Play Recap

Titanfall 2

First up during EA Play was brand new footage of Titanfall 2. Respawn Entertainment confirmed that there will be a proper single-player campaign (unlike Titanfall's online only co-op campaign). PlayStation 4 players will also be able to get their hands on the sequel this time around.

Madden NFL 17 & FIFA 17

E-sports championships was the focus on this years EA sports announcements, along with FIFA 17's new single player campaign called "The Journey" based around protagonist Alex Hunter.

Mass Effect Andromeda

Possibly the biggest highlight of EA's press conference, an all new Mass Effect game with a brand new story from developers who brought you the original trilogy, Bioware. You will explore never-before-seen star systems, and go up against hostile aliens and environments. Bioware did not give too much away and promised we'll see more on Mass Effect Andromeda this Spring.

EA Original and new Indie game Fe

An awesome new edition to EA is EA Original, a new publishing label for indie developers and their ambitious titles. Announced alongside the new label is Fe, a story based adventure game by Swedish developers Zoink Games (what a name!!).

Star Wars, Star Wars, Star Wars

In a somewhat disappointing update to EA's Star Wars games, we witnessed short snippets on the extensive in-development titles being released over the next few years. Battlefront 2 was confirmed to be in development by DICE once more, along with Motive adding in their flare, to be released in 2017. EA also confirmed that the sequel will include content from the new Star Wars movies.

Also announced is a third-person single-player Star Wars adventure by Titanfall developers, Respawn Entertainment, with an apparent focus on gameplay.

And finally, the massive story-driven title by Visceral Games has been confirmed to be released in 2018.

Battlefield 1

Closing EA Play was the highly anticipated first-person shooter Battlefield 1. Set in World War 1, the new Battlefield is sure to stun fans with their ambitious weather system, brand new vehicles, and dynamic 64-player battles.
